Training & Workshops

Trident provides trainings and workshops in a variety of specialised areas, noted below. All trainings are customised to clients’ needs and are engaging, thoughtful, and action-oriented. Trident believes that effective trainings encourage collaboration and community building and provide accurate and clear information about the given topic. Trainings run by Trident are always interactive, with activities, workshops, and thought experiments that allow participants to come away with new knowledge, skills, and interests. Why should we discuss these topics?

Identity encompasses all of who we are. We bring our identities with us everywhere we go. It is becoming increasingly important to pay attention to the spaces we are in, whether professionally or socially, and do what we can to ensure that all people can feel welcomed and safe in them.

These topics are uncomfortable for me!

That’s ok! Talking about these topics can be new for many people and it can sometimes feel difficult and uncomfortable. In Trident’s sessions, participants are met at a level that feels safe, while also pushing towards the edge of the comfort zone. Like any new learning, the more we engage with it, the easier it becomes!

What is allyship?

Allyship is when someone who has a privileged or dominant identity (such as male), works to use that privilege to support others. Allies work to educate themselves, educate others, and speak up for what is equitable and inclusive, even if it doesn’t directly impact them.

What are Trident’s specialty areas?

Trident is especially well-versed in discussing issues related to race/ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation. Trident is frequently asked to provide knowledge around unconscious bias, creating inclusive environments, understanding the needs and experiences of underrepresented groups and developing positive allyship behaviours.

Why is this relevant in Singapore?

Research by organisations like IPSOS, AWARE, United Women Singapore, and Oogachaga indicate that many Singaporeans face discrimination in the workplace and at school. In order to reduce these instances, intentional steps need to be taken to provide support for others.

How else can Trident help?

Trident has worked with organisations to develop DEI mission statements and guiding principles, as well as work one-on-one on rolling out DEI initiatives. Trident has worked to rewrite sexual misconduct policies to be more inclusive as well as helped created HR & Behavior Response policies that are restorative in nature.

International School Educator, “Restorative Conversations” course

“I really enjoyed all aspects of the training. The presenter Andrew had such a warm, genuine, calm presence and the content was communicated clearly and concisely..”

Staff Member, National Gallery, “Building Inclusive Workplaces” course

“Breaking up for small group discussions definitely helped to make the session more engaging (where everyone can express how they feel) without dragging out the session. Andrew is also very engaging, and I was surprised at how fast time flew.”

Developing an “ally-tude”

This mini workshop was featured during the Trident Training & Consulting launch party. Being an ally requires consistent actions towards greater equity and justice. It is a verb and not a noun. Take a look and book an ally training with Trident today!
